Just thought I'd throw these out there. Here's my cool picture of a not-so-cool colorful spider.And there was a butterfly in the same area, so I took a picture of it too. Much more delightful to look at!
oh!!! i don't know the proper name of those spiders, but we call them banana spiders. ryan had one making a web on his old blue truck. it freaked me out every time i had to walk by it. ryan moved it to our tree. but he said the spider wasn't happy about being moved....

I'm with Holly, we always called them banana spiders!
